Dreamcatcher DIY
Recently I saw a pin on Pinterest that really got me excited. It was a beautiful dreamcatcher using a wooden ring and lots of fabric, lace, and ribbon. I added it to my lists of "to do crafts".
Walking through JoAnn fabrics yesterday I passed the section of embroidery loops and knew it was going to be the start of my dreamcatcher. I grabbed a fairly large one and then proceeded to a previous isle where there was some pretty white doile lace. The rest of the materials I had at home.
Materials:
wooded embroidery loop
lace doile
feathers
left over ribbon, lace, ribbon, string etc. - use whatever
Directions:
1. Loop string around embroidery loop, just as you would if you were making a dreamcatcher with only string, but stick it through the edges of the lace doile each time you make a new loop. 2. Once you go through all of the corners you will have to adjust all the distance of the loops on the enbroidery loop to make them all even and straighten out doile. You may have to tighten the string a few times. Once the doile lays flat tie off the ends of the string.
3. The rest is up to you! Add feathers, ribbon or lace to the bottom. You can also add some beads or shells to the strings at the bottom or stitch them right onto the doile. Have fun, you can't mess this one up.
